Wonderland of every nature enthusiast and dream of every romantic, this mesmerizing city named Mussoorie is set amidst magnanimous mountain ranges adorned with fluffy snow and green grassland tempting everyone to steal a glance of it's everlasting charm. It is also known as the 'queen of hills' due to it's enchanting beauty. The place is well equipped with cozy cafes, luxury hotels, serene nature walks, churches, buzzing markets and much more.
LOCATION: The city is located in Garhwal Himalyan range, at a distance of 35 km from the state capital, Dehradun and 290 km from the national capital Delhi.
Best time to visit: June to September is the perfect time to visit the place. Avoid visiting the place in monsoon as landslides may disrupt your plans. Also, it's extremely windy and icy here in winters, so avoid that season too. Summers are just perfect to explore this heavenly beauty.
Best places to sightsee: 1. Kempty falls: A trip to Mussoorie is incomplete without catching a glimpse of the gigantic falls plunging from high altitude with somersault of streams. If you ever visit, just sit by the side of fetching fall and enjoy garma-garam maggi with kadak masala chai.
2. Lal tibba: Located at a distance of 6 km from the city, this is the highest viewpoint in Mussoorie. The place is located at a height of 2,275 meters, so guys you can imagine, how wonderful it's gonna be to watch the sky turning red and yellow and sun coming out to spread endless rays of light, right in front of your eyes. The place offers one of the best sunset and sunrise view. Also, the telescopes installed at Lal Tibba can help your parching eyes in quenching their thirst.
3. Gun Hill Point: This second highest peak of Mussoorie, is located at a distance of 1.7 km from the mall road. This place can be reached by a 20-25 minutes uphill trek where along the way you will get to see a lot of scenic grasslands and local culture of the place. The place offers a perfect view of the Doon valley.
4. Mall Road: Starting from picture palace in east and stretched till the library in the west, it's one of the major attraction in Mussoorie. The place offers picturesque viewpoints featuring Doon valley. Colonial style houses keep on reminding of the British architecture. It's also shopper's heaven and a prominent shopping location in Mussoorie. The wooden decorative items, shawls, Tibetan Prayer wheels, handmade jewelry, handicrafts and woolen clothes are the most famous items here.
Also, a lot of food stalls are there offering lip-smacking cuisines.
5. Company Garden: A very popular picnic spot and hangout place for children, company garden is located at a distance of 3 km from mall road. The place has varied variety of aromatic flowers along and an awesome amusement park. A mini lake with with a small artificial waterfall adds to it's beauty.
paddled boating facility is also available in the small boat. The place also has a food-court offering delicacies and a telescope to catch a perfect view of marvelous mountains.
