Books from decades ago! Eighteen century books!

Classics are written about decades earlier or more. They are ancient and are still read with great pleasure. It depicts the culture and the scenarios of the past. The classics still hold a place in our heart.

Classic novels are an integral part or English literature. Everyone loves to read classics. Classics are rich in literature that imparts a wider vision of certain times. The list of classic authors is endless. But Jane Austen tops my list.

Jane Austen's works are treasures of her generation. Her impeccable writings, wisdom and the character development in her stories need to be appreciated.

Other than Austen, Dicken, Harper Lee and Charlotte Bronte's works are some of the best classic books written in the history of the literary world.

Here are some of the best classic books to read:

  1. The little women

This book was written by Louisa May Alcott . The book deals with familial relationships, love, companionship and empathy. The characters are so well portrayed with compassion, kindness and love that you will love this book forever.

  1. The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran

The prophet by Kahlil Gibran is one of the greatest books of his times. The book is a collection of poems that talks about life, love, marriage, grief. One of my favourite quotes from this book has to be" Your joy is your sorrow unmasked".

  1. The little prince

The little prince is known to be a children's book but trust me, we adults need this book the most. The book talks about the little things we miss in our life. The book allows us to cherish those moments. It also highlights how adults ignore the little things that make us happy.

This book will warm up your heart with love and will definitely make you live your life wisely. This is one of my favourite classics.

  1. The diary of a young girl

The diary of a young girl is the diary of Anne Frank . The book talks about the struggles faced by Jews in Germany. It deals with holocausts , war and the angst of people during wars. The story clearly describes the depleting conditions of people during war. Imagine going into hiding for three years without being able to walk in the sun. The book will surely make you cry.

  1. Emma By Jane austen

The protagonist  of the story,Emma woodhouse is a fun loving character who gets her mistress hooked. After the marriage was a success, she started believing her matchmaking abilities and things did not work out well. The book is fun and takes you on a rollercoaster ride.

The narrative of the book is gripping. The characters are interesting and keep you hooked throughout the book.

  1. The Great Gasby

The great Gatsby , known as one of the greatest novels of the twentieth century is the story of Jay Gatsby and Daisy that revolves around materialism, idealism, power of money and the hollowness that existed in the twentieth century.

The narrator of the story is Nick, a friend of Gatsby who begins the book with advice given by his father. And that never gets old. One of the perks of reading classics is that it takes you back in history and inspires you to see things that exist even today.

"𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 π’šπ’π’– 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 π’π’Šπ’Œπ’† π’„π’“π’Šπ’•π’Šπ’„π’Šπ’›π’Šπ’π’ˆ π’‚π’π’š 𝒐𝒏𝒆 , 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 π’“π’†π’Žπ’†π’Žπ’ƒπ’†π’“ 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π’Šπ’ π’•π’‰π’Šπ’” π’˜π’π’“π’π’… 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒏'𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π’‚π’…π’—π’‚π’π’•π’‚π’ˆπ’†π’” 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 π’šπ’π’– 𝒉𝒂𝒅 "

The book is based on the theme of power of money and fame that eventually destroys us.  The book talks about

present-day world that still worships money and views it as a substitute for the American dream, the world that hinges on materialism, the world that no longer frowns on the gaudiness and glitz of the nouveau riche.

These books will surely take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I hope you enjoy these books as much as I do. There are several other classics but these are my favourites.
