Vasant Panchami

Vasant Panchami is a festival that marks the beginning of spring season.

According to Hindi Panchang,

Panchami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Magh month is popularly known as Vasant Panchami.

The festival is also celebrated as the birthday of Maa Saraswati, the goddess of learning, and educationists and students across the country pray to Goddess Sarswati to make them more knowledgeable.

Only by the grace of Goddess Saraswati, a person is blessed with knowledge, intelligence, discretion and mastering science, art and music.

It is also considered auspicious to start any new work on Vasant Panchami. Those who are not getting any Muhurta for home entry can enter their house on this day or if someone is looking for auspicious time to start their new business, then they can start their new business on Vasant Panchami.

Similarly, for any other work for which no one is getting any suitable Muhurta, he or she can do it on the day of Vasant Panchami.

Importance of Vasant Panchami

The religious belief on this day is that on this day Brahma, the creator of the universe, created Maa Saraswati and started the work of creation of the universe. Man was silent in his initial state, so at that time, the earth was completely calm. Due to this, there was increasing dullness on the earth.

When Brahma Ji saw this, he sprinkled water from his kamandala and by doing so, a beautiful woman appeared in the form of a wonderful power.

The woman had a veena in one hand and a bridesmaid in the other. The sound of veena vibrated in all the three loks  (pataal lok, swarg lok and mrityu lok) and was thus called Saraswati.

Everyone got the word and voice from this vibration.

Do you know ?🧐

That in Sanatan Dharma, Maa Saraswati is also considered to be the goddess of words and speech.

Vasant Panchami is not just a festival, rather it is a symbol of devotion, power and sacrifice.

It is believed that, on this occasion everyone has to wear yellow clothes and worship Saraswati Maa with turmeric and apply tilak to itself.

Yellow color signifies that the crops are about to ripe apart, yellow color is also said to be an indicator of prosperity.

Although this festival is celebrated with pomp in each state of India every year, but in some states of India, this festival has a different significance.
