Anne Frank was one of the kindest and most lively soul to walk on earth. She was a German-Dutch diarist of Jewish heritage, a hopeful young teen under the regime of Adolf Hitler. She was one of the most discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust, she gained fame with the publication of The Diary of a Young Girl, in which she documented her life in hiding from 1942 to 1944, during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. It is one of the world's best known books and has been the basis for several plays and films. At such a young age, her thoughts and words have inspired manh, including me. Here are some of my favourite quotes from "Diary Of A Young Girl".

1. Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.

2. I've found that there is always some beauty left -- in nature, sunshine, freedom, in yourself; these can all help you.

3. No one has ever become poor by giving.

4. I don't think of all the misery, but of the beauty that still remains.

5. The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As longs as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles.

 6. Women should be respected as well! Generally speaking, men are held in great esteem in all parts of the world, so why shouldn't women have their share? Soldiers and war heroes are honored and commemorated, explorers are granted immortal fame, martyrs are revered, but how many people look upon women too as soldiers?...Women, who struggle and suffer pain to ensure the continuation of the human race, make much tougher and more courageous soldiers than all those big-mouthed freedom-fighting heroes put together!

7. Although I'm only fourteen, I know quite well what I want, I know who is right and who is wrong. I have my opinions, my own ideas and principles, and although it may sound pretty mad from an adolescent, I feel more of a person than a child, I feel quite indepedent of anyone.

8. There's only one rule you need to remember: laugh at everything and forget everybody else! It sounds egotistical, but it's actually the only cure for those suffering from self-pity.

9. People can tell you to keep your mouth shut, but that doesn't stop you from having your own opinion.

10. Everyone thinks I'm showing off when I talk, ridiculous when I'm silent, insolent when I answer, cunning when I have a good idea, lazy when I'm tired, selfish when I eat one bite more than I should.

11. Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don't know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!

12.  Dead people receive more flowers than the living ones because regret is stronger than gratitude.

13. Because paper has more patience than people.

14.  Laziness may appear attractive, but work gives satisfaction.

15. The question is very understandable, but no one has found a satisfactory answer to it so far. Yes, why do they make still more gigantic planes, still heavier bombs and, at the same time, prefabricated houses for reconstruction? Why should millions be spent daily on the war and yet there's not a penny available for medical services, artists, or for poor people? Why do some people have to starve, while there are surpluses rotting in other parts of the world? Oh, why are people so crazy?
