Winter is harsh on our skin. And on top that if we have dry skin, our skin feels like a barren Sahara desert. But you can solve this issue by taking extra care during winters. Dry flakes are seen during winter near your nose and forehead that can ruin your whole mood. A proper regime must be maintained to get that soft, smooth and moisturized skin. There are several products in the market that claim to drive off dry and flaky patches of your skin. But, the products are extremely expensive that burns a hole in your pocket. Also, they do not suit everyone.  So, I have tested some of the products and I feel will suit you. They include both home remedies as well as products that are affordable, cruelty free and environmental friendly.

The winter skin care regime is a follows:

1.       Start your day with a glass of lukewarm water.

The reason why I include this in my skin care regime is because this makes a huge difference. Staying hydrated can give you that glowy and flawless skin you are dreaming of. It makes you look fresh and prevents acnes. If you have tried everything but your pimple is not fading away, you are not drinking enough water. Water helps you to flush out toxins from our body and that shows on our skin. Go drink a glass of water princess.


2.       Cleanse your face with a hydrating cleanser

Make sure you use a hydrating cleanser to remove the dead cells and all the dirt from your skin. Take a pea size amount of the cleanser on your palm and apply it in circular motion with the tip of your fingers. Make sure you apply it on your wet skin. Make circular strokes for at least 3 seconds. You can check out mama earth, good vibes hydrating face washes and ever yuth face washes. They range from rs 100-500. Don’t over wash your face. Use cleanser twice a day.

Tip: if your skin feels super dry after using the face wash or your skin starts purging, the product is not the right one for you.

3.       Exfoliate your skin twice a week

Dead skin cells present in our skin are stubborn and makes our skin flaky and dry. We need to exfoliate our skin using a scrub or chemical exfoliatior.  If you don’t want to spend your money on a scrub, don’t worry. You can use coffee powder and grinded sugar to exfoliate your skin. But make sure the particles are small and do not cut your face. Be gentle on your skin.

4.       Moisturizer is the key

Winter or summer, it is necessary to moisturize our skin to avoid dry and flaky skin. If your skin is extremely dry, you can use facial oils along with moisturizers for extra moisture. You can use face packs such as honey and curd to add glow and smoothness to your skin. Nivea soft skin moisturizer is one of the best moisturizer I have ever used.

5.       Don’t forget your sunscreen

Yes. You heard it right. We must wear sunscreen always. The UV rays do not stop during winter. So it is necessary to always use a sunscreen. It can prevent various skin diseases.

Conclusion

The five step winter skin care routine can help you get that flawless looking skin. Avoid sugar as much as possible to avoid acnes and pimples. The regime mentioned above is budget friendly, time saving and works for lazy and working women. It is highly necessary to take care of our body and skin. Self love is the best love. You go girl.
