Movies! The one form of entertainment which we all love. Movies make us feel a wide variety of emotions, from motivation to melancholy, some inspire us, and some make us laugh so hard, that our stomach aches. Sometimes, movies also shape and change our way of thinking in many ways, we develop a bond with a fictional character, we love their philosophies, sometimes we hate the characters to death. But there are some movies, we all love, no matter the date, time, or year. College life is when we are all growing, and we all need positive, open, and practical perspectives, and sometimes, movies help us with growing that perspective.

1. Steve Jobs

We all know who Steve Jobs was, a great entrepreneur, the man who revolutionized the smartphone world, the brains behind the multi-billion-dollar company, “Apple”. This movie portrays his life struggles and the magnitude of his success. It is a must-watch for all of us starry-eyed dreamers.

2. Chhichhore

Chhichhore is a story, which is based on the college life of students of one of the premier engineering colleges. The message is plain and simple, failure isn’t the end, it also lets our generation know, your success is defined by the magnitude of your efforts, not your score in exams. This movie also portrays friendship and how a career isn’t everything in one’s life. With lots of funny as well as emotional moments, this is the perfect movie to watch with your friends! 

3. The Big Short

This is the movie for all those people who aspire to be industry tycoons in the finance and investment sector. This movie is based on the American 2008 economic crash,(spoiler ahead) in which a few people predicted the downfall and made millions out of it, it teaches us a very basic lesson, if you are certain in what you believe, you shouldn’t worry about what the world wants you to be.

4. Fight Club

Fight club is a movie based on the daily struggles in the 21st century, it portrays how capitalism is affecting us as humans and how we are more materialistic than happy. It is a suspense thriller, even if you are not a fan of the philosophies in this film, you would certainly enjoy the plot. This movie gives us a crucial lesson “Money isn’t everything”.

5. Guru

The quintessential rags to riches story, this is the story of a guy who starts from a small village and then works his life around into becoming a billionaire. This movie is largely based on the Indian Industrialist, Dhirubhai Ambani, who, we all know, is the father of India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani. It is must watch a movie, as it shows us what hard work and dedication can do.

6. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

This movie isn’t like the others on the list, but this is as good as other movies on the list. This movie stars three friends who discover that there is always more to life than just work and commitments. This movie portrays the sheer pleasure of simply enjoying life with your best friends. It is must watch for it teaches us all how to take a much-needed break!

7. A beautiful day in the neighborhood

This movie is based on a TV show host, Fred Rogers. The movie shows how kindness and empathy can heal the wounds of someone’s pain in the past. This movie shows that, if kindness is preserved, we can do a lot better as a society, and we need to be kind to each other, as much as possible. In today’s world where we see hate spewed everywhere, this movie shows us the magic of kindness.
