Christmas movies and series to watch this season!

It's that time of the year again!  Even though I don't celebrate Christmas, I get very excited when November-December comes along. Did you ask why? Because of all the Christmas movies!

It's the best time of the year to get comfy in your PJ's, snuggle under your comforter and binge on Christmas movies new and old. I love these holiday movies mainly because ;

·     1.   They are light-hearted, you can watch them when you're feeling low or when you feel like a 1000 bucks.

·     2. They're silly and cute, and trust me we all need a little good-natured silly in our lives

·     3. They usually have an optimistic protagonist who is always proven right in the end. If you are a hard-critic of movies that show an unrealistic life, then please keep yourself and your negative vibes away from us!

·      4.  And mostly, all of them have a happy ending. They feel like a warm hug and fill you with hope and a zeal for life

You can find a list of the Christmas classics to look out for anywhere, so here I'm going to list out the New Gen Z films that you can add to your binge-list.

First, a Netflix Original Series

This is the sweetest series I've come across. It's a fresh concept and a beautiful story of two people who bond over the spirit of Christmas. It's the perfect binge with 8 short episodes which may come up to 4 hours.  This one will make you happy and sappy.

Dash is planning to have a quiet Christmas in isolation until he finds a mysterious red notebook at his favourite bookstore that takes him all around New York and introduces him to the optimistic and adorable Lily.  How much can you know about a person without meeting them? Find out.

Now onto movies :

1) A Christmas Prince

And its two sequels - A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby

It's a cliche no doubt. An aspiring young journalist gets a chance to prove herself when her boss sends her to Aldovia, to cover a press conference by Prince Richard and find out if he will ascend the throne. The events that unfold however are not according to plan. What will she end up finding? It's romantic, Christmassy, and fun.

2) The Princess Switch

What would you do if you ran into someone who looked exactly like you ?!   A week before Christmas a Chicago baker bumps into The Duchess of Montenaro , and guess what - they look identical. They switch places or more like swap lives for two days at the request of the duchess who wanted to experience a normal life. Watch to find out how fate works in mysterious ways.

A sequel to the film, The Princess Switch: Switched Again came out in November this year

3) Operation Christmas drop

I think this movie really tries to embody the spirit of Christmas and the joy of giving. It is loosely based on the real-life U.S. Air Force Operation Christmas Drop humanitarian mission.

A congressional assistant is tasked with investigating a US Air Force base in Guam to find a reason to recommend its closure.  But an Air Force captain stands in her way and tries to remind her what Christmas is all about.

4) Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey

Musical fans, this one is for you! Jingle-jangle is a Christmas musical fantasy film about the greatest toy- maker in all the land. It's a story of hope and celebration. And more importantly about how you get back up on your feet, how it's never too late to achieve your dreams, and how belief is always inside you.

Decades after the toy-maker's apprentice betrays him, a once joyful toymaker finds new hope when his bright young granddaughter appears on his doorstep. Their dynamic is such fun to watch

5) Klaus

The list is incomplete without an animated film! Klaus is a classic Christmas tale with a new spin. Smeerensburg is a cold town full of hatred and in-fighting until a new postman arrives. Our postman befriends a woodsman who turns out to be a toymaker, for his own benefit but ends up spreading joy and inspiring change. Why ? Because he failed to understand that a simple act of kindness always sparks another - even in a frozen corner of the earth.

The tale is heartwarming and reminds you of the power of kindness. It's one of friendship and emotions.

Bonus :  Another rom-com -- A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish. It's a modern Cinderella story that is Christmas themed!  An aspiring singer wants to forge her path to success, but her stepmother and two wicked stepsisters won't let that happen. When she starts working at a job to help her dreams come true, she finds her own Christmas miracle.

Additionally here are some absolutely beautiful music in the spirit of Christmas and feeling festive :
