JEE Main

JEE Main is a National level entrance exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) after class XII for admission into Engineering programs at NITs, IIITs, and centrally funded technical institutions like IIST. It is also the eligibility test for JEE Advanced. Earlier it was known as AIEEE.

JEE Advanced

The IITs conduct JEE Advanced, and only candidates who qualify the JEE Mains are eligible to take the test. Admissions to the qualifying students are granted to all the undergraduate Engineering and science programs. There are two papers of 3 hours each. The question papers will be bilingual (in English and Hindi) and will have three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.


Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test is given to class XII students for admission to the engineering courses at the BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. BITSAT is a computer-based online entrance examination for Admission into BITS Pilani Engineering, Pharmacy, Information Systems, and other courses. Notifications for the examinations are out in December, and online tests are held in May through June.


Vellore Institute of Technology conducts the Engineering Entrance Test (VITEEE) for admission of students to its B.Tech programs. Application forms are usually available online from December, and the tests are held in the month of March.


The Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K), Bangalore, conducts the undergraduate entrance test (UGET) to determine the merit of students for admission to the undergraduate courses of the member institutions allied to the Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation Trust (KPCF).

Manipal MU OET

The All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET) is conducted to select students seeking admission in the Engineering courses offered by the Manipal Institute of Technology.


National Aptitude Test in an architecture entrance exam for Admission to B Arch courses in India in government, government-aided, and unaided colleges of Architecture. NATA has to be taken up at any designated test centres, at least six working days before the cut-off date for applying in the preferred colleges. NATA application forms are available in March, and the exam can be taken any working day from March to Aug.

NEET ( National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test)

NEET is the only entrance examination for admission to medical as well as dental government, private, and deemed universities/colleges across India. As per the order from the supreme court of India in May 2016, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) has scrapped All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) and all individual state-level medical entrance exams. NEET is an offline medical entrance exam containing 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology concepts studied in class 11 and 12.

Until 2018, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the exam in offline mode. With the press release by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) published on July 07, 2018, it has been declared that NEET 2019 will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). The tests are held once a year in pen and paper mode.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences MBBS Entrance Exam (AIIMS entrance exam)

AIIMS is the most eminent exams among the three (3) national level entrance examination for admission to undergraduate medical courses in all AIIMS institutes across India. It is a competitive medical entrance exam with more than 3 lakh aspirants applying. The examination pattern is a computer-based test containing 200 objective type questions consisting of multiple-choice questions and reason assertion from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General Knowledge, and Aptitude & Logical Reasoning.

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research MBBS Exam (JIPMER MBBS)

JIPMER MBBS is a national level medical entrance exam conducted once a year by JIPMER, Puducherry. The MBBS entrance exam offers admission to 150 and 50 seats at the JIPMER Puducherry campus and the JIPMER Karaikal campus respectively. Since AIIMS and JIPMER are the Institutes of National Importance (INI), they are out of NEET ambit and have their entrance examinations.

JIPMER, Puducherry conducts JIPMER MBBS in computer-based mode with 200 objective type questions (MCQs and reason assertive) from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Language & Comprehension, and Logical and Quantitative Reasoning. The questions asked in the MBBS exam are based on the syllabus as prescribed by the State and CBSE board of Class 11 and 12.

Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC)

AFMC offers education in the field of medicine. This college gives admission to the MBBS course based on NEET Scores. The seat distribution is 130 MBBS seats including ten seats for SC/ST candidates (105 seats for boys and 25 seats for girls), and one has to register online after the starting the registration process.

Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER)

PGIMER is conducted only for admission to PG medical courses and is one of the most competitive entrance exams in India. Like AIIMS PG and JIPMER PG, PGIMER is also conducted twice a year in January and July session. Also, like AIIMS and JIPMER, PGIMER is out of NEET PG and can hold its entrance examination. PGIMER is an offline medical entrance exam with 250 questions.

Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test

Indian Maritime University, Common Entrance Test, is an all India entrance test for students seeking admission after 12th Science for the Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) and the selected candidates will be offered a B.Sc in Nautical Science.

Indian Navy B.Tech Entry Scheme

Indian Navy B.Tech Scheme is an entrance test to seek Admission for the Indian Navy B.Tech course. The Indian Navy Sailors Recruitment is another recruitment test for class 12 students. It has various subjects like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Computer Science. Students get basic training at INS Chilka, followed by professional training.

Indian Army Technical Entry Scheme (TES)

TES is conducted for class 12th students from the PCM background.
