Listed below is PART 1 of all the societies that exist in DTU along with their description and document. PART 1 covers societies under literary and technical spheres.


Literary Societies  



Cognitive Minds takes the pride of being the personality development society of DTU. It aims to develop both interpersonal and intrapersonal skills of its members by giving multitude of exposure and platforms to the members in the area of public speaking, logical and cognitive thinking, event management, etc. They undertake various events to meet their goals. Some of these events include regular debate competitions, group discussions, regular seminars and workshops by the T.I.M.E. Institute on plethora of areas of interests. Weekly meetings are held in order to hold discussions on the techniques involved in the art of public speaking.



Toastmasters DTU is the DTU chapter of Toastmasters International, a nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of promoting communication, public speaking and leadership skills. Toastmasters International has more than 357,000 members. It helps improve their communication and leadership skills by attending one of the 16,600 clubs located across 143 countries At Toastmasters DTU, they aim to bring the benefits of the Toastmasters program to the students of DTU, who can use the club as a platform to improve their skills.They hold regular meetings wherein students present speeches and conduct various roles, followed by feedback on performance.


Round Table, the skill development society of DTU strives to inculcate the essential skills required for job profiles. It was formed in 2014 with the aim of knitting together the technical and non-technical aspects of a job. The society aims to bridge the gap between the numerous aspects of the corporate world and make students market ready. This vision is achieved by engaging students in various technical workshops, technical projects & highlighting the nuances of CV building, financing and so on. Round Table is always open to work with enthusiastic and talented young people who are diligent in their endeavors.


The annual showcase event organized by E-cell DTU, Entrepreneurship Summit is the definitive Entrepreneurial Carnival/Fest that brings in visionary students, path – leading professionals and trendsetters together to exchange ingenious and enterprising ideas. Every year E-summit greets aspiring entrepreneurs from various colleges to a series of informative and interactive speaker sessions, workshops, fun and innovative competitions that aims to foster a wave of entrepreneurship and let them dwell deep in the challenging yet exciting world of the startup realm.






Technical Societies



The student team of The Indian Game Theory Society, DTU Chapter has been performing well in a short span of time since its formation in 2016. The team consists of undergraduate students from multidisciplinary background working under the guidance of faculty advisor - Dr Nand Kumar, Head of Department of Humanities, DTU. It is a matter of pride for the students of IGTS-DTU to represent our college at different platforms and work efficiently towards achieving our goal.


The Finance and Economics Society of DTU (Assets-DTU) was formed with a vision of contributing towards development of an investment culture in our college and an aim of providing efficacious financial training to budding engineers. The society believes in providing conducive environment to students helping them make informed and effective decisions, backed by proper financial understanding. With activities like Mock-stocks, quiz, case study presentation in its fiesta and educational trips, ASSETS will ensure that, years down the line, students are in a much better shape financially and are noted for their financial prowess.


The Computer Society of India was established in 1965 and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. CSI - DTU, its college arm, is one of the leading technical societies of DTU. In academic year 2017-18, IDG’s (Interest Development Group) were created where sessions were held on various topics starting from the scrap to expertise level. A lot of technical and non-technical events were also organized.


It's been a great journey for the DTU chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers. From humble beginnings to a point where it now boasts of a vibrant and dedicated student community, with budding researchers, creative geniuses and super helpful volunteers, ASCE DTU has achieved great heights over these years.


The academic year 2017-18 was probably the most important one for their society. From organizing various trips to places like the Lok-Sabha, Paharpur business center (healthiest building in Delhi), Republic day parade and Pawan Hans heliport to organizing the grand ASME e-fest Asia-Pacific, they as a society surely exceeded the expectations. They also organized various workshops and guest lectures to develop technical skills and competitive strategies in the society members. These include the seven day long automotive week, aerospace workshop of three days, workshop on Solid works and IAS workshop, to name a few.


In the spirit of “ideas worth spreading,” TED created TEDx, a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talk videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connections. In 2014, more than 10,000 TEDx events were hosted worldwide.


SAE-DTU successfully organized an insightful workshop on IC Engines and Transmission. Students were educated on a wide range of topics. What goes into Rolls Royce that makes it so expensive? What’s the difference between a Mclaren F1 and a Tata truck? The workshop was conducted by the then 4th year student, Vinay Rawat, who had done extensive research on this topic. They had a very eager audience who were extremely enthusiastic to learn, their overwhelming response left us thrilled!


AURORA, the most anticipated & exciting annual Technical Festival being hosted by the Department of Applied Physics especially by Engineering Physics students in association with DEPTH ( Del-Tech Engineering Physics Technological Hub). It provides a very sound platform for all tech geeks and Physics enthusiasts for showcasing their talents.


Zenith-The astronomy society of DTU is a non-profitable framework whereby they seek cooperation among the student fraternity, professionals in this field and the diverse space bodies. Through the various events and workshops Organized by them they provide students who want to take up space disciplines as their careers or just find the field of astronomical observation fascinating with experiences that could expand their interest in theoretical cosmology and relevant physics and astronautics.
